Grand Canyon School Gives Back on Earth Day

It seems like every time Grand Canyon School partners up with the Grand Canyon National Park, magic happens, but this time, the positive impact of their partnership extends beyond an incredible experience for the students. On April 23rd, the Grand Canyon’s dynamic duo teamed up for yet another annual Earth Day celebration, combining environmentally responsible lessons with fun-filled activities tailored to each age group.

Kids from kindergarten to 12th grade got to join in the fun as representative from the Grand Canyon National Park coordinated the event, fostering an appreciation and awareness for our planet’s fragile ecosystems. This year’s theme was “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”, and even as recycling efforts continue to succeed, those lessons are still extremely important to our future, and introducing these concepts in a fun way did wonders to help the younger students understand and retain information.

If you’re planning a visit to the Grand Canyon with your family soon, there are plenty of opportunities for your kids to enjoy specially-designed activities to help them learn about history, science, geology, and more. Some of these activities can be found here, but many Grand Canyon facilities offer their own activities, so be sure to call ahead and see what is offered!
