Musical Festival Going Down at Grand Canyon Aug 25 – Sept 10, 2016

The 33rd annual Grand Canyon Music Festival will will be going down Aug. 25 – Sept. 10 at the Shrine of the Ages auditorium in Grand Canyon Village. The festival will have performances by the Catalyst Quartet performing the world premiere of Puhutawi, a new genre of Hopi music. In addition, other musicians include The Bonfiglio Group, Sweet Plantain and micro-operas composed by young Native composers during The Stories We Tell, in collaboration with the Arizona Opera and Heard Museum.  Concerts will be free to the public and take place at 7:30 p.m. at Shrine of the Ages. The Aug. 25 Puhutawi Concert at the Desert View Watch Tower.
