“Carol the Condor” was adopted on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015.
#1: The mystical beauty of the Canyon has always drawn me there. Every time I visit, it seems new to me, even at 85-years of age, I’ve never tired of being in its magnificent presence!
#2: I am originally from California, and moved to Camp Verde, Arizona in 1985.
#3: I am a strong advocate for the return of the Mexican Grey Wolves to it’s former habitat in Arizona. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the “United States Wolf Refuge” in Sparks, Nevada and enjoyed seasonal work as an employee in for the National Parks Service in Arizona.
I am also a supporter of “Wolf Haven International” and the “Sierra Club,” and have participated in saving land in California at the East Bay Regional Park from developers.
I am also involved with the “Defenders of Wildlife,” and have planted trees for the “US Department of Agriculture” for the “Forest Service.”
I also enjoy being a member of the “Legacy Society for Guide Dogs for the Blind,” and am an advocate for the Bald Eagles to be put on the Endangered list.
I enjoy being a wolf educator and tour guide for “Medicine Wheel Lodge,” a wolf sanctuary in Rimrock, Arizona and am a Dog Trainer for over 30-years. I have authored and published many of my poems, stories and artwork about my life’s experiences.
#4: As a child, I was influenced by nature and was always outdoors. At the age of 15, and as an adult I learned of how important animals are to the balance of nature. I became a Charter Member and an Organizer in Richmond, California for the “Richmond Dog Fanciers Club,” and have
I volunteered to clear the trails of the Regional East Bay Park in California. In the 60’s, I have breed and showed Appaloosa Horses & German Shepard dogs. I was also a seasonal worker for the Forest Service in Arizona at Tuzigot, the Montezuma Castle & Well for the Park Service.
In the 70’s, I was an advocate for & observed the Golden Eagles in California… and worked two (2) seasons at the Grand Canyon along with planting trees for the Forest Service there too!
I trained and prepared a mare for a 50-mile ride.
In the 80’s & 90’s, I trained dogs for the 4H groups and at the Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Department. I trained and judged dogs for showmanship and obedience and am a member of the “Wolf Hybrid League of Friends Club” and owned wolf hybrids.
I also signed for the release of the Mexican Grey Wolves in Arizona…and, then in 1998 the first wolf was released!

Then from the 90’s through 2007 I became a member and adopted a Greyhound from the “Greyhounds of the Verde Valley Rescue Group” in Arizona. I have also facilitated three (3) workshops at Yavapai College at the Verde and Rimrock, Arizona campuses for the Osher Life Long Learning Program (OLLI) in the Verde Valley on Wolves and Greyhounds.
In 2015 I was a guest Speaker regarding wolves at the Red Rock Ranger Station in Sedona, and made presentations and gave talks about the wolves at the Camp Verde Library in Arizona. And, have prepared and trained AKC dogs for good citizen tests.

-Thank-you for this opportunity to support your efforts and share my passion for all animals with you!
Sincerely, White Wolf McFadden
