The world’ s largest flying raptor – the condor – can be seen up close at the 2011 event and is the best way to discover the wild side of the Grand Canyon.

The Condor – the worlds largest flying raptor with a wing span of up to 12 feet is just one of several wild flying creatures who call the Grand Canyon home – will be featured at the live show held at the Visitor Center’ s outdoor amphitheater. The show also provides audience members a close encounter with free-flying Falcons, Hawks, Ravens, Eagles and Owl.

Confor Encounter Live Bird Show Grand CanyonThis sensational 20 minute show offers insights about how these birds of prey survive in the harsh elements of the Grand Canyon and also provides insight as to how everyone can help to protect these endangered species.

Condor Encounter Live Bird show is presented by Nature Valley in support of the Condor Cliffs Peregrine Fund, in order to support local conservation efforts, the Visitor Centre has partnered with the Condor Cliffs Peregrine Fund which is responsible for breeding and the live release of the endangered California Condors here at the Grand Canyon. Proceeds from ticket purchases to the Condor Encounter show will go to support the Condor Cliffs live release project. Condors were placed on the endangered species list in 1987 as they were down to only 22 living Condors in North America and now there are over 350 Condors of which 75 are here in the Grand Canyon thanks to the efforts of conservation programs such as the Peregrine Fund program at Condor Cliffs located in Vermilon located near Marble Canyon. http://www.peregrinefund.org/
