Grand Canyon Now Accepting Thrillseekers with New 1,000-Foot-High Zipline

Visiting the Grand Canyon can be a great adventure for you and your family. You can all go climbing, hiking, whitewater rafting, and do many other great activities that can get your blood flowing and pump adrenaline into your veins. But if you want to take your adventure to the next level, you and your family can get a bird’s-eye view of the Grand Canyon while whizzing by on a 1,000-foot high zipline!

This year the Hulapai Tribe at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon has opened two separate ziplines that are 1,000 feet above a side canyon floor, each one stretching out to 3,500 feet. You can definitely feel the rush as you fly over the gap at speeds reaching up to 50 MPH! You also don’t have to experience it alone. Each “quad-zipline” is equipped with four sturdy steel cables that run side-by-side in parallel, so you can scream your hearts out right alongside three other friends or family members.

The first zipline is 1,100 feet from start-to-finish, but adrenaline junkies can fly 2,100 feet down a steep gradient that will allow you to soak in the view of the beautiful Colorado River and the Quartermaster Canyon. It’s a thrilling dash that allows you to take in the sights while providing a fun jolt to your system. After it’s all said and done, you can’t help from grin after catching your breath.

So where are these ziplines located? You can find them just a mile away the popular Grand Canyon Skywalk in the Hulapai Ranch at Grand Canyon West. Tickets cost $89 per person for a trip on both ziplines, which is worth the price. Tickets to the ziplines are only sold onsite, but visitors there can also purchase passes to the 4,000-foot high Skywalk nearby. Get your itinerary properly planned, because the ziplines are only available from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday.
