Making Dreams Come True – The Ultimate Bucket List
Just like every little girl growing up in a quixotic era dreams of having a hope chest, almost everyone in this era has a bucket list. And we will not be surprised if a good 80% of that list comprises travel. Journeys to the far ends of the earth, bungee jumping off the Navajo bridges, air ballooning in Cappadocia, rafting down grade 1 white waters, hang gliding in Interlaken, sampling authentic Oriental cuisine, snorkeling in glassy Tahitian waters…the list is endless.
How does one make a bucket list practical, yet dreamy? Ask Erin. Erin is a mom of two, loves to take pictures, has a great sense of humor and loves to write. Put them all together and what do you have? A wacky and informative read. Oh and she loves to write about all things healthy too, so if you are looking for a delicious and nutritious blog read, look up Erin on todaysmama.com. If you have read a perfectly decadent bit of writing and are looking to shed a few of that excess baggage, Erin’s nutritious ~read ‘wholesome’ blog posts will get you back on the road to great reads.
One of Erin’s post focuses on her “bucket list”, in honor of the Just Ask Bucket List Getaway Giveaway. What’s cool about Erin’s list is that she tries to be different while staying practical. Although the child in us would dearly (really dearly) love to be sent into orbit…literally, we can’t obviously ask for a funded trip to the moon can we?
Erin wants to take a week-long rafting trip with her family on through the Grand Canyon. Nothing quite beats the rush of riding the turbulent yet treacherously calm green waters of the Colorado, and that is precisely why a Grand Canyon rafting tour is a great pick.
Balloons!! Lots and lots of them. She wants her children to experience the same sense of awe and joy that she felt when she lived in Albuquerque and watched balloons float by her window every now and then. So the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta finds its way on the list.
Can there be a better combo than beer and blues? She heads to the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival for that much needed ‘cultural’ extravaganza. A surefire way to get into high ‘spirits’.
There HAS to be some girl power time. And enter Las Olas surf camp, with best friend. A week of uninterrupted sand, surf, and surfing.
Can’t leave the spouse behind for too long, can we? Azure blue skies, translucent turquoise waters and floating homes beckon in Bora Bora.
We’ve all grown up with different perspectives and circumstance, but what Erin brings forth beautifully in her post is that you can never leave the child in you behind. And that sometimes the ultimate joy lies in the most simple of things. Like hosting an outdoor movie night in your own backyard. Or riding a bike. Or telling your parents you love them. Or cooking a dish close to perfection. Or adopting a pet. Happiness is about learning and sharing. And that’s what this list is all about.
