Grand Canyon National Park Hosts Archeology Day March 24
The Grand Canyon National Park is home to Archeology day on the 24th of March. There will be a number of free events in honor of Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month. The events are meant to inform about archeology in the state of Arizona.
Grand Canyon is home to 4,000 plus archeological sites. It is estimate there may be more than 50,000 sites. The special day is meant to shine a light on the 12,000 years of human history in the area. Visitors will be able to try making clay pots and rock art. Events will be family friendly with an educational focus.
