From Landscapes and wildlife to history and adventure, what’s the one thing about the Grand Canyon that has intrigued you?

The landscape is fascinating. These vibrant red, yellow and green shades, with a purple and blue mist in the morning. Also the Canyon remains untouched by men, this is a wonderful experience to lose yourself there.

If this your first visit to the Canyon, what is motivating you to visit? If this a revisit, what’s your reason for wanting more?

Going to the Canyon was a last minute idea, we wanted a ‘wow’ effect. And we had it! i was looking for stunning and unique landscapes to disconnect from my daily life and to capture with my camera.

 

What are five things your Backpack to the Canyon must contain?

1. Water water water.
2. Sunscreen
3. Sun glasses and a hat
4. Food
5. A camera (3 for me)

What according to you is the best way to get to the Grand Canyon – By Air, By Road or By Rail?

We only experienced by road, so I cannot really answer this.

What is travel to you in one word?

Freedom

What are three tips for an awesome budget trip to the Grand Canyon?

1. Rent a car
2. Try to be 4 participants to share the costs
3. Book your accommodation early and your bus last minute (we took a bus).

On your travels, what would you choose a book or a camera, and why?

A camera, without a doubt! There are so many things to see, I did not have time to lay my eyes on anything else than the landscapes!

What surprised you about the Grand Canyon?

I was surprised how far the horizon goes and the different colors. I expected it to be red/orange and dry, whereas there are many different angles, different kinds of flora. From sunrise to sunset, the Grand Canyon offers many changing views.

As a travel destination, how would you rank the Grand Canyon from 1 to 10?

Hi! My name is Adriana, I am a 22-year-old French student. I came in NYC last summer for a year-long internship and wanted to finish this American experience by a road trip in South Western America, from San Francisco to San Diego, via Las Vegas and – of course – the Grand Canyon.
