Grand Canyon Fire Restrictions lifted

Due to the recent precipitation, fire restrictions have been lifted at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon National Park had restrictions in place at the canyon’s north and south rims since June 30th.

Visitors now can build wood fires in developed campgrounds. The Park Service urges residents and visitors to be cautious when dealing with anything that could start a wildfire includes keeping campfires in established fire pits and grills, and using an ashtray.

Another round of fire restrictions could be implemented  if dry conditions arrive in the early fall.
