A new terminal is set to replace the existing facility at the Grand Canyon National Park Airport. The upgrades will make it possible to have major airlines fly in from other major hubs in the country. The airport is owned by the Arizona Department Of Transportation. They are looking into the environmental impact to the new terminal. The goal is to have the terminal operational within the next 5 years. The airport currently ranks 3rd in the State of Arizona averaging 275 take-offs and landings per day on it’s one runway.
