Judy McCord from Scottsdale shares her Grand Canyon tips

From Landscapes and wildlife to history and adventure, what’s the one thing about the Grand Canyon that has intrigued you?

The entire Park intrigues me!  Probably the only place I’ve been where everywhere you turn there is beauty & peacefulness.

If this your first visit to the Canyon, what is motivating you to visit? If this a revisit, what’s your reason for wanting more?

This was my third visit but my first in solitude which was incredibly soulful.

By car!  The drive up to the Canyon is nothing short of gorgeous.

On your travels, what would you choose a book or a camera, and why?

Always a CAMERA!  I live for photography.  I’ve been taking pictures since I was about 12 years old.  When someone asks the age old question, “what would you do for a living if you could” my answer is ALWAYS, travel the world with my camera.  By the way , I’m looking for work! hint hint ;)

Did you visit the Visitor Center?  Did you see the IMAX movie, Grand Canyon: Rivers of Time?  What did you think?

Yes, I saw the IMAX movie at the Visitor Center.  It was amazing!  Would love to know how it was shot.  Incredible videography!

Tell us a little about yourself!  This will be included on the web site.  What brought you to Grand Canyon? Where are you from? What do you do? What are your influences?

I would describe myself as a creative gal with a flare for photography.  I live in Scottsdale, AZ but originally from the East coast.  After driving cross-country twice recently, I decided life is too short and realized the Grand Canyon was only a hop, skip & a jump! I feel fortunate to live only 4 hours away and plan to visit more often. Twitter: @judymccord
