New App Gives Insight into Grand Canyon Geology

The recently released Grand Canyon National Park Geology Tour app gives insight into the geology of one of America’s most spectacular parks and the surrounding region: the Colorado Plateau.

The app is a photographic tour of the South Rim, written and narrated by geologist Deborah Ragland, Ph.D. with photographs and illustrations by Dennis Tasa. The iPad app allows you to view the Grand Canyon in a new way. Not only will you look down at the river from high elevations, but you will also go back in time. Learn why the rocks present those incredible colors, study the different rock layers and their ages, find out how the interesting buttes and pinnacles formed, and much more.
