Grand Canyon Tour with Michelle Greer
From Landscapes and wildlife to history and adventure, what’s the one thing about the Grand Canyon that has intrigued you?
I love the native american past. I wish we could have spent more time there so that I could have explored that aspect a little more.
If this your first visit to the Canyon, what is motivating you to visit? If this a revisit, what’s your reason for wanting more?
If I was able to revisit soon, I would want to go because I want my kids to experience it. The next time I go, I would like to make a whole week out of it. I’d like to get down to the bottom somehow. And I seem to remember something about cave drawings?? I would love to see those! I would definitely do the helicopter with the kids. I just need to see it again to remember that “peace” I was talking about earlier. Majestic land formations like these have a way of making all of your normal everyday problems seem small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. To realize that the Earth is so old and is still here. . . my life is but a blip in the whole process!
What are five things your Backpack to the Canyon must contain?
Camera, water, high-carb snack, first-aid kit, jacket–it gets cold at night!
What according to you is the best way to get to the Grand Canyon – By Air, By Road or By Rail?
Drive there so that you can see all of the pines that have turned red from being over 100 years old! But, definitely do the helicopter tour. So worth every penny!
What is travel to you in one word?
Exploration
On your travels, what would you choose a book or a camera, and why?
Ooooh! That’s a hard decision. I would have to say camera so that I could preserve the memories. I love looking back and reminiscing.
What surprised you about the Grand Canyon?
How completely immense it was. It was absolutely incredible. It was so peaceful and made me feel like I was connected to the Earth, God and the Universe
As a travel destination, how would you rank the Grand Canyon from 1 to 10?
10
Did you visit the Visitor Center? Did you see the IMAX movie, Grand Canyon: Rivers of Time? What did you think?
No, unfortunately we didn’t have the time to do anything extra besides our tour.
Tell us a little about yourself! This will be included on the web site. What brought you to Grand Canyon? Where are you from? What do you do? What are your influences?
I’m originally from FL and met my hubby on a cruise. I moved to Ohio to be with him. After 2 years of living in Ohio, we got married and left for our adventurous honeymoon! We drove to the Grand Canyon from San Diego, via Lake Havasu. Now, ten years later, I’m a stay at home mom and a blogger. I blog at Heartfelt Balance Handmade Life As far as my influences? I would have to say my hubby and my kids. My hubby is so adventurous. He is a BASE jumper and is so brave. My daughter got her sense of adventure from him. They all inspire me every day to step outside of my comfort zone.
