All Aboard the Grand Canyon Railway’s Polar Express
The Grand Canyon Railway is now accepting applications for the Polar Express. The train is leaving and needs kids this holiday season. The Grand Canyon Railway’s Polar Express comes to life when the train departs the Depot in Williams, AZ for an adventure through the dark and quiet wilderness for a joyous visit to the “North Pole”.
Experience the magic of the popular 1985 classic children’s book written & illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg. Sip on hot chocolate & nibble on cookies while listening to the magical story aboard the train. New for this year’s holiday season, “The Hobo,” a character from the book, will be available at the Railway’s Williams Depot for photos with passengers.
Grand Canyon Railway will offer runs this year starting Friday and going through Jan. 5, with matinees on Nov. 23 and 24 and Dec. 1, 8, 15, 16, 22 and 23. For those dates with two runs, departures are at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Matinees depart at 3:30 p.m.
Some weekend dates are already sold out, so Grand Canyon officials recommend booking early for the best selection. The full schedule of the Polar Express is available online at http://www.thetrain.com/polar-express-5679.html
