Grand Canyon Scenery

Photography Fan Zied Belkhodja shares Grand Canyon Pictures

From Landscapes and wildlife to history and adventure, what’s the one thing about the Grand Canyon that has intrigued you?

The Landscape, definitely. The awe-inspiring views and the unspoiled nature of the Grand canyon just left me speechless! Being able to see hundreds of miles away, and thousands of feet deep down makes you lose all sense of scale.

If this your first visit to the Canyon, what is motivating you to visit? If this a revisit, what’s your reason for wanting more?

Yes, this is a first time. The exceptional and unique geological features, the remoteness, and the multiple hiking opportunities in the Grand Canyon were the main reasons for our visit.

What are five things your Backpack to the Canyon must contain?

I love photography, so I’d recommend bringing a good Camera with different lenses (the ultra-wide angle was very useful!), a tripod, a trail map, and water of course!

What according to you is the best way to get to the Grand Canyon – By Air, By Road or By Rail?

By Road! Highway 67 which leads to the North Rim is very scenic, alternating winding curves in the Kaibab Forest, then wide open meadows. It really was an amazing drive! (watch for wildlife!)

What is travel to you in one word?

Discovery

What are three tips for an awesome budget trip to the Grand Canyon?

Well, I’d recommend bringing a small cooler with some food because over there it’s a little bit pricey. If you love camping, you should go for it too! The campground facilities are great. And finally, book everything as early as possible!

On your travels, what would you choose a book or a camera, and why?

I would choose a camera, for obvious reasons mentioned above! Don’t fool yourself though, you cannot capture the greatness of the Grand canyon in pictures, so keep your eyes open, and let them fill with the breathtaking views!

What surprised you about the Grand Canyon?

Fortunately, despite the large number of visitors, you can always find a way to get away from the crowds and have you own Grand Canyon Experience. I loved that.

As a travel destination, how would you rank the Grand Canyon from 1 to 10?

10

Did you visit the Visitor Center?  Did you see the IMAX movie, Grand Canyon: Rivers of Time?  What did you think?

Unfortunately, I didn’t. We only visited the North Rim.

Tell us a little about yourself!  This will be included on the web site.  What brought you to Grand Canyon? Where are you from? What do you do? What are your influences?

I’m a french guy who lives in New York City. I ‘m a Project manager for a french Cosmetic company, and I love photography. My wife and I spend all our free time and money to travel. We love to escape the big cities (we lived in Paris before!) and go to the wild. After Iceland and the Canadian Rockies, the Grand Canyon seemed like the perfect next destination!
