15 People from Around the World Granted Citizenship at Grand Canyon
15 immigrants from all over the world were granted their United States citizenship at the Grand Canyon. The 12 countries Canada, China, Colombia, Congo, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Trinidad, and Turkey.
Most often, these ceremonies take place inside courtrooms, but as a celebration of the National Park Service’s centennial, the parks are hosting 100 such ceremonies, with the final being held in Sequoia National Park in California.
The 15 candidates gave the Oath of Allegiance and said the Pledge of Allegiance.
