Kickoff a Halloween Grand Canyon Tour with ‘Trunk or Treat’

Want to give the kids a memorable vacation? Ever wanted to experience the cool Grand Canyon weather during the fall? Then you might want to book a trip for the end of the month. Just be sure to pack some costumes, too. Why? So your kids can enjoy the winning combination of a Grand Canyon tour and candy!

The Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce proudly hosts its annual “Trunk or Treat” Halloween festival on October 31st. Tusayan, AZ business owners and community members are going all-out on Halloween, lining up in front of RP’s Stage Stop along Highway 64 with their car trunks full of treats for little ghosts, goblins, and ghouls that stop by after a day at Grand Canyon National Park.

Aside from trick or treating, many local restaurants will cook up some food for visitors and community members to enjoy. There will also be costume contests for adults and kids, with prizes given out in a variety of categories. Those that dress-up their car’s trunk with Halloween decorations will be eligible for a “Best Trunk Display” prize, too. To top it all off, there will be a haunted house provided by the Tusayan Fire Department to give adults and little ones a friendly scare.

The festivities start at 5:30pm and go all the way to 8:00pm on October 31st. So pack up some extra bandages in your first aid kit to make yourself a mummy. Pack some ghoulish face paint along with your sun block. Put your backpacks and Ghostbuster Proton Packs into your car before hitting the road. A great family experience awaits as you hike the Grand Canyon trails by day and haunt Tusayan at night!
