From Landscapes and wildlife to history and adventure, what’s the one thing about the Grand Canyon that has intrigued you?

I’ve always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon because it’s so incredibly vast. It sounded unfathomable until I saw it, and even spending hours viewing it from multiple spots, it still seems endless. It’s incredible that something like that was formed over years and years of erosion and natural processes. I didn’t have a specific view in mind, but definitely images of the snow covering the red rock will always be what comes to mind first when I think about the park.

I loved our drive to and from the Canyon. I’d definitely love to do a cross-country roadtrip someday and visit the Canyon and other national parks along the way.

Tell us a little about yourself!  This will be included on the web site.  What brought you to Grand Canyon? Where are you from? What do you do? What are your influences?

I work in web strategy in the Washington, D.C. area and I love hiking and spending time outdoors. In my spare time I’m a freelance photographer, primarily inspired by travel photojournalism and nature photography. I traveled to the Grand Canyon for the first time over Christmas. My parents recently relocated to Sedona and since the Grand Canyon is so close by, I insisted we go visit! Even though they had been many times before, they were thrilled with the visit – seeing it in the snow was very special, and an added bonus that there were virtually no crowds!
